Frequently Asked Questions

Steps to perfect coffee.

1) Guidelines for a standard cup of espresso (for reference only, the pressure rate and other
statistics will vary depending on the roasting level, freshness, etc.)
•For single shot espresso, the amount of coffee powder is 9±2g, for double shot espresso,
the amount of coffee powder is 18±2g.
•Water temperature 199±36℉
•Group head pressure 9±1bar
•Extraction time 25±5s
2) Select fresh coffee beans, generally roasted within three months of the date, to get a
better, fresher taste;
3) Grinding the coffee powder in advance is not recommended. The taste is better with freshly prepared coffee powder, or else the carbon dioxide in the coffee powder will easily evaporate and absorb unnecessary odors;
4) If the coffee powder is too fine, it may cause excessive extraction, and if it is too coarse,
it may cause insufficient extraction, so it should be adjusted to a medium grind;
5) Keep the remaining coffee beans sealed and well stored after use, and avoid placing them in humid environments or in direct sunlight.

2. There is too little coffee powder, please add a bit more.
3. The powder is not tamped well, please distribute the coffee powder evenly and tamp it with appropriate pressure.

The coffee beans/powder are not fresh, reducing the extractable substances and causing a faster flow rate. It is recommended to use coffee beans within 1 week to 1 month for the best flavor.

No oils or too little oils.

1.The coffee powder is too coarse.
2.The coffee powder is too little.
The pressure on the powder is too small.

2. The machine is not cleaned properly after the first use of the machine or Descaling Operation.Follow the instructions in "BEFORE FIRST USE" to clean the machine.

How to choose coffee beans/coffee powder? how do they affect coffee making?

1. Please choose fresh coffee beans. Generally, the best-before date is from one week to one month after the roasting. During this time, the taste is better and fresher.
It is not advised to use coffee beans older than three months because they are less fresh and most of the compounds have volatilized, resulting in fewer extractable substances.

2. The fresher the coffee beans, the more extractable substances they contain. Fresh coffee beans tend to have richer crema and a more complex flavor. They also require a coarser grind compared to less fresh coffee beans.

As coffee beans age, more compounds volatilize, resulting in fewer extractable substances. This causes a faster flow rate of the coffee liquid, and therefore, older beans require a finer grind compared to fresh beans.

No steam/Jet of water before first use.

For the first use, the steam must be released for a period of time to drain the condensate inside the machine,then the steam is drier.

No water/No steam.

Machine is preheating/The steam button wasn't pressed.

Summary on the factors affecting coffee flavor

1. Grind size, freshness, quantity of coffee powder, and tamping pressure.
2. Water temperature, pressure, and extraction time for the coffee.
3. Quality of the water used.

Liquid flow slows down or stops after continuous brewing

The G3005E/G3005H models use thermoblock, which has weaker temperature endurance for continuous brewing. This can lead to insufficient or noticeably fluctuating water temperature. It is recommended to wait for a short interval before brewing the next cup of coffee.

The G3007L model has a 550ml brew boiler, which provides better continuous brewing capability compared to the thermoblock. However, due to the limited size of the boiler, the water temperature may be insufficient after brewing three consecutive cups. It is advised to wait for the boiler to reheat properly before continuing to make coffee.

This issue could also be related to the grinder. Frequent use of the grinder may leave fine powder from the previous grind setting, and excessive fine powder can affect the liquid flow.

The stability of the pump pressure is also relevant, but the effect is relatively small.

Insufficient steam/abnormal frothing.

1.Steam wand nozzle clogged.
Clean out deposits in the nozzle with a needle.
2.The temperature of the milk is too high.
Please use cold milk.
3.The container is too big or the milk is too little.
Use a smaller milk frothing pitcher or add more milk.
4.Use skim milk.
Please use cold whole milk.
5.Only G3005E/G3005H:The steam button wasn't pressed.
Press the steam button and wait for the indicator stops flashing.

How often should the machine be descaled ? How to clean?

1.In order to ensure the best performance of the appliance, the cleanliness of its inner water channels, and the pure, good taste of your coffee, the appliance should be descaled and maintained on a regular basis of every 1-3 months;

2.Add water and descaler into the water tank up to the MAX level (about 1.7L total, with a 4:1 ratio of water and descaler, see descaler instruction manual for specifics). Please use the "descaler for home coffee machine" or buy the specific descaler from the service center. If out of descaler, substitute with citric acid (the ratio of water and citric acid is 100:3);

3.1) Descaling coffee boiler: After preheating, press any coffee making button to let at least 150 ml water flow out from the group head, to clean the internal water pipe.Please repeat more than 3 times.
2) Desacling steam pipes: Press steam button to preheat the steam function.After steam preheating,turn on the stem knob to release at least 2 min steam to clean the steam pipe.
3)Descaling coffee pipes: Place cleaning disc into the portafilter and add the appropriate amount of coffee machine descale.Twist the portafilter with descaler into the group head, press manual coffee making button to start brewing without water flowed out to rinse the group head deeply.After 5-10s brewing, press manual coffee making button to stop. Repeat the above process again after 3-5s . Please remove the potafilter, clean up the coffee stains that is flowed out from the group head and take out the cleaning disc,that you will finish.

Refill the water tank to max capacity line (without descaler). Repeat this cycle until there is no water left (if the appliance is still not thoroughly clean and gives off a smell of descaler or citric acid, you can repeat the steps until the odor vanishes).
